Corwinisms

This post is all about Corwin. Thus the title, "Corwinisms." He came in awfully excited the other day because Daddy let him drive the lawn mower. (Don't worry, people, Jason was close and the blades were not running.) He was thrilled, and said that he was getting bigger, almost a teenager! Little does he know, Dad is just starting the training early. As soon as Corwin is practiced up enough, Jason will hand the responsibility of mowing off to his son. Poor Corwin. If he only knew his dad's true intentions....

He, his daddy, and Coach Vinson went fishing again. And, again, the men were showed up by the little boy. Corwin caught the two crappie below. The men didn't catch anything worth keeping. The trio went fishing a few weeks back, and Corwin caught two big fish--one a large mouth bass. And, in Corwin's words, the men only caught "baby fish." As you can see in this picture, he's very excited that Daddy brought his fish home for them to cut up. Guess what we're having for supper tonight....

He had a health check up today. According to the weights and measurements today, the boy has grown a good 2 inches and gained 3-4 lbs. in the past 6 months. Thankfully this has happened over the summer where his pants are shorts. I think he'll be wearing size 7 slims this fall/winter. He is in the 91st percentile in height and 73rd in weight. Tall and skinny. Just like Daddy.

I was going through some of the boys' clothes in the basement this morning, seeing what we'll need to acquire this fall, and it's funny to see how differently the boys are shaped. They are 3 years and 1 1/2 months apart. So, Owen should be able to wear all his brother's hand-me-downs. This fall, that will not be the case. Corwin was wearing 2T this time 3 years ago. Owen is still in 18 month clothes. Corwin was wearing a lot of 3T things when he turned 2. Owen will get swallowed in 2T jeans. Corwin always ran ahead in sizes because of his length. Owen is much shorter-legged. So, he might get an entirely new wardrobe this fall! (Hint. Hint. I hope you're reading this Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, and Uncles....)

I am thankful for healthy, vivacious, sharp-minded boys. Corwin's 5th birthday is coming up, and that is so hard to believe! Like he said, he's almost a teenager!
