Six Months Old

Well, Owen had his 6-month check-up today, and they confirmed what we've suspected. Owen is a big boy. He weighs 20 lbs. 6 oz. (in the 90th percentile of kids his age), and is 26 in. long (in the 50th percentile). He does like to eat. Corwin was always big, too, but he was long and big. He was proportional. Owen, ... not so much. He's short and chubby. :)

The Great Swing Raising

Well, Corwin has been gone all week to visit Uncle Brett in Arkansas. The house has been awfully quiet...and clean. Owen and I have been busy, busy running around taking care of business while brother is away. I think Owen is who makes running errands difficult, not Bubby. :)

Anyway, today Nana and Pa are here and helping Corwin put up his swing set. He's been hard at work today. Hammering, sawing, levelling, measuring...he's done most of the work, I think.

But, the end result is oh...so good! I bet we'll be outside much, much more now.
Jeff and Vernetta are here because Jason and I have tickets to the St. Louis Symphony tonight. Ha...those of you who know Jason are probably laughing at the thought of Jason going to the symphony. For your information, this will be his third time. We've gone two other times for our anniversary. I can't wait! Our seats aren't the best, but the tickets were free. I'm not complaining. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. We're enjoying the good weather...while it lasts. It's always changing in the spring.

Spring Sing

It is an outrageously gorgeous day here, and I am soaking it all in! One thing about being farther up north--and this may be a surprise to you--it's considerably colder. So, today, with a high of 75, is good news for a mom and two boys with cabin fever.

We went for a walk down our street today and ran into Mr. Tom and Mrs. Juanita (our landlords and neighbors). They have some new toys that are buying for Corwin's time. Mrs. Juanita got a new golf cart. She calls it the "Easy Go". She has a lot of joy taking Corwin around their yard for a ride. And, Mr. Tom has a new puppy. His name is Duke, and I think Corwin is claiming him for his own, and that's fine with me. He gets the joy of playing with Duke, and they have the responsibility of feeding and cleaning up after him. There is something about a boy and "his" dog. They're quite a pair. I'm not sure if Corwin wore out Duke, or if Duke wore Corwin out.

Tomorrow is promising rain, so I shall soak up all the warm sun I can today. Jason probably won't get his tournament in tomorrow. It's been a very rainy spring, much to his dismay, but there will be plenty ball games from now until October. We hope everyone has an awesome weekend, and that your weather will be better than ours. Love you all!

Bye-Bye Newborn

My baby is sitting up, rolling all over the house, and just got his first tooth. No more toothless smile, and now we're edging closer to becoming mobile. And, the honeymoon period for Corwin is coming to an end. Owen now grabs anything (including Bubby's prized posessions) and puts it in his mouth. Corwin's not a fan of "slobbers" all over his stuff. Life, as we've known in for the past six month, is coming to an end. Hello, reality!

Easter 2009

Police Officer Morris to the rescue!

Owen's first Easter egg dying experience. He didn't seem
amused.
