CRAWLING!!!

It's official. Owen's crawling now. Sorry, the picture is fuzzy; I didn't get the camera focused before I started shooting. It's hard to capture kids when they're doing their tricks. Anyway, you'll get the idea. Oh, and if you can, notice the tongue hanging out as he works so hard to get that ball (just like Corwin used to do--and still does).

This picture is from earlier this spring (thus the sweatshirt and long pants). I haven't taken any pictures this week; I've been trying to recover from camp last week. It's been tuogh. Monday was mass laundry day, Tuesday mass grocery day, and today was HOT. We're going to have to do something about our sad little window unit that is expected to heat this entire house (with bad, old windows). It was only in the low 90s today, so I hate to see how cranky I get when it gets hotter.

We've spent quite a bit of time in the water lately. Corwin spent a little over an hour in Lexi and Leah's pool (friends down the street / our pastor's daughters), then got in his little pool in the backyard right after nap time. I put Owen in his little baby pool, too. He seemed to like it. Or, rather, he like his Splash Bomb ball he was sucking/chewing on. He didn't act like sitting in 3-inches of water was any different than the living room floor.

Corwin is a regular little water bug. He LOVES the water! He plays very, very hard every minute he's in. Jumping, playing football, practicing going under water, etc. I wish we had our own home so we could erect a larger pool (oh, and the money for the pool). Mommy would enjoy it, too. It'd be a good place to spend nap time.... I'll try to get some pictures of the boys playing in the water. I'm sure we'll be back out there tomorrow.

P.S. Owen isn't crawling yet, well... forward, anyway. He does great at going backward. It'll be any day now. I don't think this house is ready for that yet.

VBS Party

Well, you can't have a bad kid party when there's water involved. The VBS kids had a ball today. They practiced their songs and presentations for tomorrow's service, had lunch (yummy grilled hot dogs and chips), and then got busy with water games, a giant slip-n-slide, and "tractor" rides. It was really a good time. We were missing a bunch that were with us during the week, but it was a great time anyway.
Most importantly, we had several kids get saved this week. That makes all the work, all the headache and noise worth it. A little boy came up to me as his class was coming into music time and said, "I ast Jesus to come into my hawt, and he did!" I teared up at his simple description of salvation. It's that easy, folks!


Thank You, God, for allowing me to be a part of this great week.

Now, off to another great week at teen camp. Pray that God will change lives there forever, as well. Talk to y'all next week!

Sweet Baby Days

Sorry I've not posted all week. We've had Vacation Bible School this week, so we've been busy. I'm doing the music portion and loving it, as usual. I'm thankful that I can be a part of it.

Owen is changing a lot these days. He's become much more mobile--rolling, scooting backwards, and turning complete circles on his tummy. If he sees something he wants, he goes after it! He can even go from sitting, to on his knees, then to his belly so he can move better. He's been fun to watch. And, with this extra movement, he's loosing some of his "insulation". His face is thinner, and his "trunks" (thighs) are slimmer. It's only a matter of days or weeks that he'll be crawling. Then, WATCH OUT, CORWIN!!! Life will officially change in a major way for big brother!

I'm headed to teen camp next week. I'm both excited and anxious. I LOVE playing and singing with the worship band. There's not much that I love more. But, I am anxious about being away from my boys for an entire week. My mom is keeping them a couple days, and they'll be alone with Daddy for a couple days. Owen better not start crawling without me!!! Anyway, you won't hear from me next week, so if I don't post before Sunday afternoon (hopefully I'll have some VBS pics to post in the next couple days), I'll see you in a week!
