Silver Dollar FUN

We had a little one-day vacation yesterday and went to Silver Dollar City! It was such a good day! It was a little hot and humid, but that made for a good excuse to get wet. I think we were able to cover all of the park, and it wasn't terribly crowded, so the lines weren't very long. Corwin rode everything he could. Some things he needed some coaxing to do so, but after getting off he was glad he rode it. All except Fire in the Hole. I think those "Baldknobbers" kinda scared him.

When we were walking into the park Corwin turned to me and said, "I didn't know real hillbillies lived here! Did you know hillbillies lived here?" He was so excited. Then, later he saw some hillbillies cooking lunch for us and the thought that was awfully nice of them! We later had to explain that all those "hillbillies" were just pretend hillbillies because he saw some jailbirds out and about that should've been in jail. He wasn't too excited about that.

We started out on "Thunderation", and Corwin just wasn't too sure if he liked that, or not. He thought it was fun, but he didn't want to ride it again. So, we headed to the kiddie area with an elephant ride, tea cup ride, small rollercoaster, pirate ship, swings, etc. He liked that area real well, and so did Owen.

Then we moved on to the "Big Dog" rides. Powder Keg and Wildfire. Corwin couldn't ride Wildfire, but with some convincing he rode Powder Keg. I thought he'd come off bawling (it's a pretty intense ride), but he came off excited! He actually enjoyed it. Then, we got wet. VERY wet. It started in "Geyser Gulch" with water shooting out of the ground. Owen loved that. He'd stomp on the ground, and sometimes it'd make water shoot up!
Corwin rode the log ride three times. This was fine with Owen because he thoroughly enjoyed the "Ozark Water Tree" just outside the log ride. He was perfectly content as bubby rode that log ride twice in a row.

We had a super duper good day! I'm certainly glad we went. And, it was even nicer because Owen had Grandma there to sit with him while Mommy, Daddy, and Bubby rode all those rides. Had she not been there, it would've been much harder. But, we all enjoyed it, and the boys slept hard and long last night.
